A History of ConnectBlogs

Published on January 16, 2008

I was having a conversation with Steve Spencer the other day about ConnectBlogs. He was surprised to learn that I was one of the guys behind ConnectBlogs. I thought I’d tell the story here for your enjoyment/enlightenment.
The first business model for 10Speed Media involved us going out and doing what we called “renegade” video. They were short videos on local [...]

If you have any insight into my questions below please feel free to educate me in the comments:

Published on September 14, 2007

Here’s a collection of my thoughts from this week.

iPhone price drop
Apple just dropped the price of the iPhone by $200 so an 8 gig iPhone now costs $399. What a steal! I wonder how all those hardcore Apple early adopters feel about the iPhone dropping $200 [...]

Published on August 15, 2007

Virgil Griffith, a grad student from Caltech has built a tool called Threat Level that exposes Wikipedia for what it apparently is: a spin factory for malicious content, unbridled PR, and partisan hacking. From Wired:
“Caltech graduate student Virgil Griffith just launched an unofficial Wikipedia search tool that threatens to lay bare the ego-editing  and anonymous flacking on the site. [...]

The great Web 2.0 bubble debate (or why its time to start thinking about Web 3.0)

Published on August 2, 2007

John Dvorak set off a Web firestorm today when he declared that the Web 2.0 “bubble” is coming and that the end is near. Sometimes TechCrunch writer, Marshall Kirkpatrick and Robert Scoble took Dvorack to task on their respective blogs. Hundreds of other joined in. Ouch.
I thought I would weigh in myself not so much on what [...]

Seth Godin live at the Salt Palace

Published on May 24, 2007

Here are some takeaways from today’s Seth Godin event at the Salt Palace:

Quiters can be winners
The mona lisa is only famous because it was stolen - its not the best painting in the world
