I’m going to try and get back into doing a weekly Friday round up post. These posts are where I usually throw out my thoughts from the week on any topic ranging from business to religion. Here we go…
- The stock market has dropped substantially (again) in the last week. Where’s the Obama bump? Why isn’t the hope that the media claims Americans now have for the Obama presidency manifesting itself in the stock market?
- Did you create your new years resolutions? Its a good time to talk goals. I suggest checking out The Game of Work by Park City author (and one of my mentors), Chuck Coonradt. Don’t create bogus resolutions that you know won’t hold. Build a real plan for your life.
- Traffic on my blog is up 25% over the last couple of weeks. The only thing I can attribute that to is Twitter. Have you seen an increase in your blog’s traffic since you started using Twitter?
- Speaking of Twitter, its nice to see all the social media people come out of the woodwork here in Utah. Back in 2006 it was really just a bunch of kids (I include myself) at Provo Labs who were blogging and trying to figure out the whole “Web 2.0″ thing. Well Web 2.0 is dead. Welcome to the new Web - whatever its called.
- I still haven’t received my Kindle. I hope it comes soon.
- Sundance: There appears to be more traffic at the Heber airport this year than there was last year. As I was driving home last night I saw people de-planing a G5 with four Escalades in waiting. I wonder who it was? Do I really care?
- Speaking of Sundance, some locale Tweeters are organizing a Sundance Tweet Up (suntweet) next Thursday at the Park City Ski Resort. Get more info here. See you there.
- Next Friday I’ll be judging the Westminster College business plan competition. I’m really looking forward to the event. More details after the event.
- I may sound like a broken record but I still can’t believe all the opportunity that exists in the world. There has never been a better time to figure out how to make your own way in this world. Make it happen, Captain!
- I really need to get back into skiing. First, I need to lose 20 pounds and build some leg muscle. I am so looking forward to Mountainpalooza mountain biking trips this summer. I have a feeling we’re going to be hitting Sundance weekly on the bikes and I am really excited. You in?
- The weather this January has been amazing! I love this 45 degree weather. I hope it sticks around!
- Looks like Clark and Linda are having a baby today. Congrats!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks man. I may have to get that book and reevaluate my “life plan” cause this experience has been life changing.
