I missed the v|100 lunch last week. I wonder if Jeremy blew my award to smithereens?
I still haven’t seen the new Indiana Jones movie. Have you? Is it any good?
I am continually amazed at how much money you can make in a down market. When you see those pictures of people standing in the unemployment line - I can guarantee you that those people never learned how to make money. They only learned how to make other people money. Think about it.
On that note, if your revenue model is based on ads…you’re screwed. The first thing to go in a downturn is marketing.
Nothing is more expensive than cheap legal advice (wisdom of McHood)
Working with service providers on a performance basis is the only way to do business. Especially when it comes to conversion, PPC, SEO, etc…
Only fly Southwest Airlines!
Watching American Idol with my grandma was kind of fun. I thought that Archuleta kid was going to win. Here’s a fun fact: I used to hang out at the Archuleta’s house a lot when I was a LDS missionary. David was just a toddler then. His dad is not the guy that the media has portrayed him to be.
Funniest line heard last week: “I’m a sales victim so I’ll probably buy whatever you have”
I reconnected this week with an old missionary companion via Facebook. Maybe I’ll keep my FB profile around a little longer.
Recently, at a Maverick gas station I selected the “pay inside” option at the pump. A lady came over the intercom and told me the pump was prepay only. Something snapped. Normally I would have just walked away but this time I asked her why they have a prepay option if it isn’t an option. There was no response so I happily took my business somewhere else. That same day, I ordered a fillet mignon from a restaurant in Heber. They brought it out after a 45 minute wait. It wasn’t cooked right and I don’t think it was even a fillet! I told them to take it back and to take it off my bill. I am sick an tired of getting screwed over by bad service and I’m determined that from here on out I’m not going to take it anymore. When I take my car in for service they treat me like I’m a king. Why can’t I get that everywhere I go? Where do you experience good service?
I’m also sick of watching people take advantage of other peoples kindness. Anyone know a good lawyer?
When I look at the United States right now - a horrible election, gas prices, taxes, natural disasters, political corruption, a destitute housing market, war, national debt, consumer debt, unemployment, etc, etc, etc - I think the rest of the world read Atlas Shrugged and they’re just waiting patiently for us to off ourselves. Â
Finally, this picture is amazing and very thought provoking.
Have a nice weekend.
Indiana Jones sucks. They tried to make it just like the new star wars movies. Pure cashing in on fans for an extra buck.
Left by Bryan on 06/06/2008Second to Bryan’s review of Indiana Jones. I thought is was lame. Wife liked it–she felt like it was like all the others, over the top and unbelievable plot, action, and fight scenes. As for your last paragraph, I’m reading “The Post-American World” by Fareed Zakaria. Interesting thoughts about how the rest of the world is rising, not so much that America is failing. Agree consumers are being stupid, but this is behind the economic principles Zakaria explores. The rest of the world is benefiting from upward movement in global economics while the USA is not the only game in town any more.
