Web 3.0 yeti attack

Posted by Chris Knudsen on August 9th, 2007

There are only four things I fear in this world:

  1. Bigfoot (Sasquatch for the purists. Yeti for those of you in Asia)
  2. Small places (I’ve got bad claustrophobia)
  3. Cybernetic beings
  4. Zombies

I recently read that Web 3.0 would bring on the age of the semantic web and that true AI would become a reality. Is that really a good idea? AI never seems to end well in the movies. Sky Net nuked the world. The Cylons made hot robot woman that destroyed a civilization. The Borg scares the crap out of me!  If Web 3.0 is really going to bring on AI then I think we need to take a step back and re-examine if this is really a good idea. I can live with bad Google searches as long as cyborgs aren’t wondering around killing people.

Oh and if we ever have a Zombie outbreak I highly encourage you to read this list of 10 things NOT to do in a Zombie attack.

And check out this cool Garden Yeti that Jeremy Hanks got me. I think he’s trying to get me over my fear of eight foot tall bipedal half man half apes that seem to run around in the woods with nothing better to do than harass campers and walk out in front of cars. Now I’ve got to figure out where to put this thing. My wife won’t let me put it in the garden. Maybe the garden Yeti will now become the office Yeti.

  1. I think that Yeti sitting in that chair is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life!

  2. I’ve decided he’s more of a Sasquatch then a Yeti.
