Playing with an iPhone

Posted by Chris Knudsen on July 30th, 2007

I was out to lunch with Jeremy Hanks today. He picked up an iPhone about a month ago and showed me all the cool features. Overall I was impressed with the iPhone. The mail app was way better than I thought it would be and so was Safari. I was really blown away by the quality of the screen and the multi touch is very cool. I didn’t have any trouble with the keyboard. I think the people complaining about that are the people that switched over from a Crackberry or other similar device. I was also surprised at how heavy the device felt in my hand.

The one thing that killed me was how slow the Edge network was but when you have wifi access in your office or house you don’t need Edge. I also find the missing copy and paste function a little annoying. Like I said, the iPhone is cool but I’m not sure if its $600 cool. I hate AT&T and don’t know if I could ever go back to their “service”. I may consider it if the iPhone drops substantially in price and you can get a lot more than 8 gigs of storage.

Also, if you’re an iPhone fan check out the Apple Phone Show on Podango with iPhone expert Scott Bourne.
