I was fascinated by blogging when I first discover it years ago. However, it took a long time to launch my own blog. I was afraid that I would expose too much about myself to the world. I especially did not want to reveal any information that a competitor or potential client could use against me.Â
Here’s an example.Â
Being an excellent negotiator is a key trait all successful CEO’s possess. I began writing the other day on good negotiation tactics. Then it dawned on me that I was giving out key information about the way I do business that I would not normally share in such a public setting. I promptly deleted the blog post. What you write may have detrimental ramifications. Beware what you blog.Â
BTW, if you are an employee or work for Provo Labs and would like some useful pointers on negotiation, please feel free to swing by my office and I will give you the material I use in the entrepreneur class I teach at Westminster College.  Â

All those suffering from insomnia are also encouraged to ask Dr. Knudsen for his classroom materials. Just don’t read it and then operate heavy machinery.
Left by Unidentified Co-worker on 04/19/2006Chris, you’ve hit on an interesting point - just because it’s easy to post information to a blog doesn’t mean you *should*. On the other hand, I personally find myself hesitant to post a lot of information, only to realize later that it would have made a great post. It’s important to consider each time you are about to hit “Publish,” but a lot of times you ought to just throw it out there and see what others think.
