I thought I would write a little more on mountainpalooza to let you know what it is and what it is not.
What it is:
- A bunch of dudes (ladies are welcome too)Â who like to get together on bikes and have a good time.
- A lot of down hill exhilaration (we ride the lift up)
- A lot of local entrepreneurs and start ups dudes so you get to build friendships while riding together (on this first ride we’ll see Jeremy Hanks, CEO of Doba and some other Doba dudes, Scott Lemon, CTO extraordinaire, Adam Eshinroder who works in sales at @task and more)
- Intermediate trails that are fun to ride and don’t require a lot of expertise on a bike (but bring your helmet!).
- A fun fun fun time in the sun!!!
What Mountainpalooza is not:
- A Robert Scoble event (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- A bunch of people sitting around listening to an entrepreneur tell his story (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- Geeks geeking out about geeky technology (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- A Utah organization handing out some kind of award (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- An event planned by Phil Burns (not that there is anything wrong with that - Phil you’re invited to come)
- A meet up of entrepreneurs and investor (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- A tradeshow (There is actually a lot wrong with that)
So grab your bike and let me know if you’re coming out on May 25th. This is the first big ride of the year - let’s have a good showing!

Hey Chris
Left by Lorri Randle on 05/11/2007This helps explain some more. I’m a little nervous, I just got my first MOUNTAIN bike two weeks ago, we’ve done the provo river trail and I’ve gotten use to biking again, but have never done mountain biking in my life and I’d like to try-not sure if making a fool of myself in front of everyone could be called a good time, or a very good image move on my part, but hey-as long as ya’ll look the other way when I fall off the mountain its all good!
Cammon has a shoot that day, but not sure if it is going to be morning or later-you said in the afternoon, might you send me the time you had in mind for this to start?
@Lorri:
If you’re just starting out then Sundance is probably not the best place to cut your teeth - it might be too aggressive for a beginner.
I’d ride a lot this year and get into the sport - ride places like Lambert park to get good then hit the big hill when you feel ready.
Left by Chris Knudsen on 05/11/2007Wow, you can differentiate an event based on that it’s not planned by me? I’m not sure if that’s good or bad
I’m going to try to make it, assuming I can kick this bug I’ve had all week.
