One year anniversary

Posted by Chris Knudsen on April 10th, 2007

I just landed in NYC for Search Engine Strategies and other business. Sorry to Phil and the guys at WikiReview for not being able to make the Politics2.0 meetup with Chris Cannon tomorrow. Looks like a great event.

Today is the one year anniversary of my blog. Although I haven’t blogged much lately, I still enjoy blogging but even more I enjoy the interaction that you give me in the comments of my blog. Thank you for engaging.

Here are some stats from the last year:

  • 235 posts
  • #1 Keyword phrase: Speaking Roses
  • 80% coming to my blog use MS Explorer.
  • 2.2% coming to my blog use Safari (go figure)
  • Spam comments caught by my spam filter since January 1, 2007: 46,000
  • Most viewed post: Why comments are important on your blog
  • Next to the US the country I get the most visits from: Brazil
  • Most unique visitors ever received in one day: 2500

Thanks again for hanging out and reading my blog. I look forward to another great year.

Now where do I find something to eat in NYC for less than $25?

  2. The Park is decent. Excellent pot pie. I don’t usually order something like pot pie, and I wouldn’t think this place actually served them, but it was good. It’s kind of a night-life place, so it’s not really somewhere you would probably go alone as a married guy with kids. (10th ave between 17th and 18th)

Blue 9 Burger is good for under $10. Fresh beef and mango fry sauce. Way good. (92 3rd Ave,
    between 12th & 13th St).

Rainbow Falafel and Shwarma is good if you like Falafel. The place is tiny, so it’s easy to miss. Probably under $5. (26 E 17th St between broadway & 5th Ave)

Sylvia’s (if you have time). Authentic soul food in Harlem, and it’s good. 328 Lenox Ave between 126th & 127th St. You’ll stick out like a sore thumb as a guy from Heber.

You can also try some of the restaurants that are owned by the folks on the Food Network. Bolo, Mesa Grill (Both Bobby Flay joints). Mario Batali owns a bunch of Italian places (http://www.mariobatali.com/restaurants.html)

Magnolia bakery has dang good cupcakes. Even SNL has a skit about them. (401 Bleecker Street, on the corner of West 11th Street)

Stay away from the crap near Times Square!

    Love me some food.
