“Fiscal Cancer”

Posted by Chris Knudsen on March 8th, 2007

David Walker, comptroller general of the U.S., totaled up our government’s income, liabilities and future obligations. He concluded the numbers don’t add up. Tired of politicians not listening, Mr. Walker has taken his message to America.

I highly encourage you to watch Mr. Walker in this 11 minute ABC news presentation. Here’s a great quote:

“We are mortgaging the future of our children and grand children at record rates and that is not only an issue of fiscal irresponsibility - its an issue of immorality”

Bravo! Thank you David Walker for your courage. You are a hero.

Here are some excerpts from his latest interview with the Financial Times: Drawing parallels with the end of the Roman empire, Mr Walker warned there were “striking similarities” between America’s current situation and the factors that brought down Rome, including “declining moral values and political civility at home, an over-confident and over-extended military in foreign lands and fiscal irresponsibility by the central government”.
