Michael Eager becomes the first blogger to take on the Provo Labs blow up. This blog post starts a tsunami of blog posts and comments on the Provo Labs implosion.
I nominate Phil Burns (Tag Jungle) and his ‘Levels of Desperation’ post. ( http://www.phil801.com/wpblog/2006/08/21/levels-of-desperation/ ). Technically it was a follow-on from the Provo Labs implosion but, for me, that was the post that really started people asking questions. It was really stark and much more raw truth than a startup should ever show - I think that level of desperation made them prime candidates to be taken advantage of and cast them in a bit of a pathetic light. However, it was the nuts and bolts emotion that just isn’t presented and that does make it valuable. It’s probably the only reason why I’m still curious on how Tag Jungle is doing today.

Left by Matthew Reinbold on 12/27/2006Doh - linked to the wrong one. It’s actually the ‘Funding a Startup’ post with its ‘Levels of Desperation’ that I meant to link to:

Left by Matthew Reinbold on 12/27/2006And while I hogging the comments I thought Pete Ashdown’s campaign blog was fantastic. Did he really have a chance of beating the incumbent Hatch? No. That made his passion and commitment (even Naïveté) all that much more bittersweet and compelling.
On ‘Seeing Utah’:
